Summer Design Placement with Frame Projects
In partnership with the London Legacy Development Corporation, Frame Projects is seeking two talented and enthusiastic local students for a six-week summer work placement.
The role
This is an exciting opportunity to support students of built environment subjects to gain relevant experience, learning how our built environment is planned, designed and constructed. The placement will be paid at London Living Wage.
As a leading provider of design review services across London and the southeast, Frame Projects can offer valuable learning about the role these mechanisms have to play in the planning process, as well as a unique insight into the range of built environment professions that shape places. Quality review panels provide independent expert advice to clients, design teams and planning authorities on development proposals, while community review panels allow schemes to be informed by local expertise.
The work placement will include:
-
Learning about the principles and practice of design review.
-
Assisting with setting up a typical review meeting, including management of overall logistics and coordination of panel members.
-
Attending quality and community review meetings, including site visits, for a variety of scheme types, scales and locations.
-
Responsibility for putting together an annual report for one of our panels, including collating surveys, analysing outcomes and presenting findings.
-
InDesign training, applying Frame Project’s graphic and editorial standards.
-
Opportunities for career development through speaking with multidisciplinary built environment professionals in a series of 1:1 online meetings.
-
Meeting with Council contacts to learn about career opportunities in local government, the planning process, and benefits of design review.
-
Attending internal management meetings and helping with general office tasks.
-
Feedback to LLDC about your placement experience.
