Anna Liu is a qualified RIBA architect, with expertise in architecture, sculpture and landscape design. She has worked in Taiwan, the US, and the UK, where she co-founded Tonkin Liu in 2002. The practice has won 28 RIBA awards and the RIBA Research Grant. It was also selected as a RIBA Role Model Practice. Anna’s work is driven by the aim for architecture to be the holistic integration of structural, environmental, and social principles. Her research interests include vernacular architecture, blue infrastructure, placemaking, and the integration of architecture with nature's ecology, elements, archetypal symbols, and biomimetic design.
