Jonathan McDowell is co-founding director of Matter Architecture, and previously of McDowell+Benedetti. He is particularly concerned with the civic, cultural and placemaking opportunities in the design of public realm and infrastructure projects. Jonathan has designed several award-winning bridges including Murdoch’s Connection and Scale Lane bridges in Hull, and Castleford Bridge. He has been juror on several international awards and acts as independent design adviser. Jonathan is also a member of the Design South East,Yorkshire & Humber, Hackney and Islington design review panels.
